Four ways Malaysia helps pay for software
Most businesses only know about one of them. The grader checks all four against your answers and weights them by how much each can realistically cover.
MSME Digital Grant
35 pointsPays for: Up to half the software and setup, capped at RM5,000.
- At least 60% Malaysian-owned.
- Within the SME size limits: services up to RM20 million in sales or 75 staff, manufacturing up to RM50 million or 200 staff.
- How long you have been trading, and whether you have claimed the grant before.
- Whether the vendor is approved and a round is open. The grader flags this for you to confirm.
HRD Corp levy
35 pointsPays for: Training your team to use the new system.
- With 10 or more Malaysian staff, registration is mandatory and you pay 1% of wages.
- With 5 to 9 staff, registering is optional at 0.5% of wages.
- Whether you already pay the levy, and how big your training balance is likely to be.
Tax allowances
30 pointsPays for: Faster tax relief on software and setup.
- Software spending incurred by 31 December 2026 can be written off in two years: a 20% initial allowance plus a 40% annual allowance.
- Your tax rate, including the SME rate on the first RM150,000 of profit.
- Whether you plan to buy this year or next, since the window closes.

Before you start
What does the Malaysia Grant Grader actually grade?
How much of a new CRM your business could pay for with Malaysian funding. It checks three sources: the MSME Digital Grant, your HRD Corp levy and the tax allowances on software. Each one gets a score, and together they make your grade out of 100.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no charge and no card. We ask for your email so we can send your report and follow up if you want help.
Who is it for?
Malaysian businesses thinking about a CRM: Sdn Bhd companies, sole proprietors and partnerships, and private or international schools. It suits clinics, schools, travel agencies, property agencies, retailers and any team that handles enquiries on WhatsApp.
Does a high score mean I will get the grant?
No. The grader reads the published rules against your answers. The grant still needs an approved vendor and an open round, and HRD Corp and tax claims have their own paperwork. Treat your grade as a guide to what is worth applying for, and confirm the details with the agency or your accountant.
How up to date are the rules?
The rules were last checked on 28 September 2026. We update them after each Budget and whenever a grant round or tax window changes.
Do I have to use Yalla to use the grader?
No. The grade applies to any CRM you are considering. If you want to see Yalla, the report has a link to book a demo.
